What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, postcode, the type of work, any message you add and your consent choice.
- Technical data: IP address and browser details processed by our hosting provider to deliver and protect the site.
Please do not send special category data, such as health information, through our forms.
Why we use it and the legal basis
We use your details to reply to your enquiry and to arrange a survey or quote. Where we pass your enquiry to an independent tradesperson so they can quote, we share only what they need to contact you about that job. Under UK GDPR we rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and on our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and running our business (Article 6(1)(f)). We do not use your details for marketing and we never sell them.
Recipients of your data
- FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers form submissions to our inbox as our processor. It may process data outside the UK; where it does, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and processes technical data to deliver and secure it.
- Tradespeople who quote for your job, as described above.
- Anyone we are legally required to share it with.
Cookies on this site
We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.
Retention
Our retention period for enquiries is up to 2 years from the last contact. After that they are deleted, except where we are legally obliged to keep them.
What you can ask us to do
UK GDPR gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability. Send your request through the routes above; we reply within one month.
If you are not happy
Please give us the chance to put things right first. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page, which always shows the version in force.
